Job: Head of Safety Audit and Compliance, National Express

Join us in a newly restructured department and you’ll help build the National Express of the future, driving strategy and implementing change throughout our safety audit and compliance function. You’ll devise a strategy – and a rigorous new timetable – for internal and external audit within our coach and bus business. Then you’ll put it into action, working closely with the Health and Safety team to tackle areas of non-compliance.

An essential part of your role will be developing our people. You’ll ensure both your team and managers throughout the business have the skills they need to make our auditing highly effective. To bring about change throughout the business you’ll need superb communication, presentation and influencing skills. In addition, you’ll have an IRCA or equivalent and either have, or be working towards, a Health and Safety Diploma or equivalent. Couple this with strong audit experience and, ideally, some knowledge of the transport industry and we’d like to hear from you.
