We are seeking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer to work as part of a small but busy environmental health team responsible for delivering both the external health and safety compliance role and a new role as the Council's corporate safety advisor.
We are able to offer a career graded post which will recognise your current capability, and which will offer you suitable support and training to enable you to deliver this role and progress through the grades.
We are proud of our track record - we operate to the Charter Mark standard and we have developed a range of partnerships to improve workplace health, for example with the Police on our innovative violence at work project, the HSE on flexible warranting and Fit 3 and our PCT on Smokefree Rushmoor.
You will have at least the NEBOSH National Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health and relevant experience of delivering health and safety in your organisation. Experience in an enforcement role will be a distinct advantage. You should have excellent literacy and interpersonal skills and should be used to dealing with a wide range of customers.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Colin Alborough, Environmental Health Manager on 01252 398177 or visit our website at www.rushmoor.gov.uk
For full details and to apply on line please visit www.hampshirejobs.org.uk
If you are unable to apply on line, please telephone Personnel Services on 01252 398099 (24-hour answering service). Minicom users only telephone 01252 371233.
The closing date for applications is 1 September 2008.
Interviews will be held on 10 September 2008.
