The ABB Group of companies operates in around 100 countries and employs more than 110,000 people. Utility and industrial customers around the world rely on proven ABB Power technologies. Our Power Systems Projects Business Unit is responsible for the design, delivery and commissioning of HV Substations for clients across the UK. We require experienced professionals to provide advice, guidance and support to management and colleagues at all stages throughout the project lifecycle.
Acting in support of a single site or managing QHSE activity for several sites in the region, the role requires energetic and enthusiastic team players who can provide pragmatic solutions to the management team and colleagues during the construction phase of electrical power projects. Holding a nationally recognised Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH preferred), candidates must have good knowledge of construction site safe systems of work, preferably within a High Voltage substation environment. A good knowledge of CDM Regulations and other appropriate Health & Safety legislation is essential and National Grid or other DNO authorisations are preferred. Activities will include conducting site safety inductions, reviewing contractors’ risk assessments and method statements and conducting safety inspections.
