Principal Designer / CDM

I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client a multi disciplinary organisation for a Principal Health & Safety Consultant to join their team. This company has a strong portfolio and pipeline of projects and has won a number of awards over the years

You will be part of a larger team of 8 managing clients and projects across the North West area mainly within transportation and Healthcare

Responsibilities include:

• Managing the role of Principal Designer under CDM Regs
• Providing POC for client
• Ensuring Health and Safety and QA responsibilities are discharged
• Ensuring projects are technically correct
• Preparation of fee proposals

Skills required:

• Able to undertake project reviews
• Knowledge of the design process
• Prepare fee proposals, review terms of engagement and associated risks
• Expert knowledge of health and safety legislation
• Sound understanding of financial management and systems
• A self-motivated individual, with a strong commitment to improving Health & Safety in the workplace
• Able to work effectively within a team environment and meet or exceed client expectations
• Adaptable and can modify the approach to work to suit the needs of the client or project
• Takes ownership for delivering promises made and will demonstrate personal commitment to achieving business results

What you'll need to succeed

• Applicants must have NEBOSH Certificate
• Preferably degree qualified
• Experience in design / construction
• Ideally be chartered member of IOSH
• Preferably have a membership of Association for Project Safety
