A major food manufacturer that is expanding fast with major growth last year alone, are in the market for a SHE Manager to look after one of their major sites. This role is to be based on one of their sites based in Norfolk, commutable from Peterborough or Cambridge.
Your new role
As SHE Manager you will have one direct report and your team will be responsible for managing all Health, Safety and Environmental issues on site. You will work closely with senior management across departments to provide advice and guidance on best practice to reduce the risk of accidents across the site. You will support other departments by communicating changes in legislation, explaining the impact it has on departmental activity and reviewing risk assessments. You will carry out regular inspections, audits and investigate any accidents/incidents on site. Other responsibilities include monitoring contractor performance and compliance ensuring legislation is adhered to. You will use periodic reports to identify risks and trends for the site and make the appropriate changes. You will also be involved with updating, producing and delivering SHE training packages for the site to all levels of management.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate for this role will hold the minimum of the NEBOSH Diploma and be a current Graduate member of IOSH (proactively working towards CMIOSH). You will have previous health & safety experience within the manufacturing industry, preferably food production. Previous experience with the implementation of OHSAS18001 and ISO14001 would be preferred but not essential, and the NEBOSH Fire Certificate is also desirable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress in the industry. You must be a self starter capable of working independently yet part of a national team.
