Health & Safety Advisor
Health & Safety Advisor role at a growing Construction Contractor based in North Essex.
Your new company
Our client is a fast growing specialist construction contractor, currently working on a variety of prestigious projects in Essex, London and the South, within the Commercial, Leisure, Residential and Public sectors. In order to expand the Health & Safety department, they are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the SHEQ Director and joining a team of 4 people, you will support the Health & Safety throughout the business. You will advise, coach, mentor and support all staff and the supply chain with regard to Health, Safety and Environmental performance to ensure everyone affected by our activities remain safe and healthy.
On daily basis you will carry out site inspections and audits on a regular basis, assist project teams to review risk assessments & safe systems of work for difficult or unusual operations, as well as carry out supplier and subcontractor vetting, approvals & audits.
You will also carry out major accident investigations and monitor all minor accidents within the business and will advise all stakeholders on safety best practices.
You will have also a focus on ISO:14001 ISO:18001 and / or ISO:45001 accreditations to deliver an Integrated Management System for the business.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have at least a NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate as well as a Technical Membership of IOSH. You will have also relevant experience within the Construction industry with a deep knowledge of building sites and related safety issues.
