We are looking for a full time Assistant Health and Safety Advisor to help manage and develop existing systems and control H & S and work, with the emphasis on Site visits and Health and safety control on all of our construction sites. This will include site visits and audits, investigation of incidents/accidents and reporting to the management team and to the board.

This is a role based at our client's headquarters in Suffolk.

Key elements of the role will include:

Helping to ensuring that systems, procedures and methods of work remain compliant with relevant legislation
Appraise systems and procedures and propose change where necessary
Being 100% focused on assisting the operational team in putting our men to work safely
Assist with the completion of pre-qualification questionnaires
Help the HS Manager to manage and maintain existing company accreditations
Attend relevant meetings including reporting as necessary
Communication with site and office based staff via bulletins, newsletters etc.
Help to manage and develop the companies PPE policies
Work with the HS Manager with budgets for key elements such as Training and PPE
Contribute to effective and pro-active risk management across the company
Ensure full compliance with RIDDOR reporting requirements
Provide a communication link between site, through all levels up to the board of directors on matters relating to Safety, Health, the Environment and Quality.

Candidate requirements:

Minimum qualification: NEBOSH gen’ cert’ or NEBOSH construction certification
Relevant construction site experience 2 yrs min.
Competent I.T. user familiar with the Microsoft office suite of products
Excellent communicator at all levels
Experience of reporting to management
A motivated individual able to respond to unexpected situations with a professional and considered approach
Experience of drafting and reviewing RAMS
Experience of investigating and reporting on accidents & incidents would be an advantage
