College Health & Safety Lead (College of Science)

The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1 October each year (subject to completing six months service).

APM Grade 8.

Main Purpose of the Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly restructured team following a University internal review and subsequent restructuring.

The role reflects the University’s commitment to the attainment of an internationally recognised Health and Safety Management System that reflects strong leadership, continual improvement and a sensible risk management approach.

The post holder will be embedded into the College of Science Infrastructure and work closely with the Management teams, academics/professional staff and students to understand their business and risk profile and provide a specialist health and safety advisory/business partner service.

This service will enable the delivery of the College objectives in a way that embraces the continual improvement of the University health and safety management system, policy and arrangements in order to manage health and safety risks arising from the business.

We are looking for a chartered health and safety professional that can demonstrate significant experience of risk control in a science/biosafety/radiation/chemistry environment
