Your new role
Working for a global public transport company as Environmental Advisor you will be responsible for supporting the UK business in achieving environmental goals. You will achieve this by working closely with business unit managers to provide advice, guidance and support on how to meet legal and organisational targets. You will be responsible for developing best practice within the business around two main project focuses - energy consumption and waste management. You will also contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of an environmental management system for the business as well as, helping to achieve ISO 14001 accreditation. Other responsibilities will include holding workshops, and training events.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic environmental professional. The minimum requirement for this role is an appropriate qualification such as a relevant degree (e.g. Bsc Environmental Management) or technical qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Environmental) etc. You will preferably be a member of IEMA and have previous experience working on environmental projects. My client is also looking to consider health and safety professionals with a passion for environmental management.
