A leading local authority in Hampshire are adding a Senior Construction H&S Advisor to their Winchester team.

My client are a leading public sector organisation who offer a wide range of services across the area. They teach more than 130,000 children, serve over 1.25m residents and manage a budget of nearly £2 billion/annum.
Your new role
You will join the Property Services team as the Senior Construction H&S Advisor. This role will be 80% office based with 20% spent on site with internal/external clients.
The job purpose is to provide a dedicated lead for Property Services, co-ordinating and promoting the highest level of health and safety within the service and the projects they deliver for both internal and external clients, consistent with legislative requirements and best practice. You will liaise with all "CDM" duty holders including contractors, monitoring and advising on construction related health and safety matters, the role will work across all Property Services' work, covering projects and services provided to both internal and external clients.
The successful candidate will provide a proactive approach to health and safety management on the delivery of projects, advocating best practice methodology in the principles of prevention. In addition, on selected high profile and complex projects, take the lead for the delivery of CDM services provided by others.
What you'll need to succeed
My client are looking for an approachable, flexible individual with the ability to think on their feet. They are looking for someone with a strong construction background including good knowledge of CDM. This is a mobile role so you are required to have a Full UK Driving Licence.
Ideally, the company would like someone who is a Graduate or Chartered Member of IOSH, but are flexible on an industry recognised equivalent (H&S Diploma etc) with good construction experience.
