I very exciting opportunity has arose at a site for one of our Global Manufacturing clients. They are seeking an ambitious and talented safety coordinator to join their site in Leeds. They want someone with a proactive and autonomous attitude to safety who will take ownership of safety but also build up key relationships on site to see a positive culture flourish.

My client is a well-established business with over 5 sites in the UK within this arm of the group alone. They are leading the way not only in the UK in their field but also in implementing an ambitious innovation programme alongside a drive for safety excellence on site. Not only will they further train you in health and safety they will develop your career, thinking about your personal goals and pipelining you ready to take that next step in your career.

As the safety coordinator you will work as part of a team of 4, running and owning all things safety on site such as managing the internal safety programme and the risk that comes with this. You will focus on upholding company standards and improving key KPI’s across the site through liaising closely with other departments. You will manage the internal and external audits to monitor compliance while also delving into health and environmental initiatives to achieve goals as part of the wider team.

You must have an entry level health and safety qualification such as NEBOSH Certificate but we won’t rule out other avenues such as environmental qualifications. This could be combined with a small amount of experience or a few years. Ideally you will have worked within a manufacturing or industrial engineering background and most importantly be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, resilience and a get up and go, proactive attitude.
