A leading Supply Chain and Logistics company is seeking a SSHEQ Manager to work in their International Division. This person will be working in a safety critical environment and the company will be looking to bring someone on board with exceptional Quality and Safety experience in the chemical, transport and logistics sectors and be a key driver in shaping their SHEQ Culture. This role will be require infrequent international travel.

The Role:
  • Ensure the quality of service provided to the customers meets the highest standards
  • To lead, develop and maintain SSHEQ programmes with the SSHEQ team
  • Act on the findings of compliance audits and to ensure agreed corrective/ preventative actions are followed up and closed out in an effective and timely manner
  • Correct and efficient accident reporting and investigations
  • Ensure line managers are briefed and competent to implement and own their SSHEQ standards and responsibilities
  • Responsibility for preparations and activities involved in major quality, health and safety audits carried out by existing and potential customers and regulatory bodies
  • Close interaction with HR for initiating and co-ordinating training plans
  • Facilitate risk assessments, including manual handling, COSSH, fire prevention
  • Prepare and present regular updates to the international leadership team
  • Ensure emergency response arrangements remain adequate for the region/ products in which the company operate
  • Create ways to drive improvements in behavioural based safety
The Candidate:
  • Solid understanding and proven track record with ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001
  • Experience in the Transport, Chemical and Logistics or Manufacturing sectors
  • Prior experience in a Quality and Safety role in a similar industry
  • High risk production experience
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Well-developed communication and influencing skills
