A motivated EHS Advisor to join an international pioneer in the aerospace industry, based in Portsmouth.

Your new role
Reporting to the Head of EHS (Defence), you will work with senior members of the business including Site Facilities Managers, Site Directors, Heads of Department & any established relationships with external regulatory bodies.
You will be expected to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all applicable & relevant Health & Safety & Environmental regulations & associated statutory duties or obligations & related external agency guidance, company EHS standards & UK legislation as it relates to the operations & activities carried out at the Portsmouth site. You will also help to further develop an effective & efficient Integrated EHS Management System in line with these requirements & will assist staff in complying with their EHS obligations & provide training & advice on EHS matters. You will support managers to implement EHS solutions & will carry out internal audits & inspections & audits in external audits to verify that systems are effective & efficient.
What you'll need to succeed
You must be a highly motivated, adaptable person with proven experience of communicating well at all levels of a business. A background of working in a complex manufacturing or defence/aerospace environment is ideal, but candidates with similar industry experience will be considered.
You must have a degree in related subject (Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Environmental Management or Science) and / or a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and be a Member of IOSH &/or hold a Certificate in Occupational or Industrial Hygiene.
The role is primarily based in Portsmouth, but could involve a small amount of travel in future so a UK Driving Licence is required.
What you'll get in return
A market-led salary of £35,000-£40,000 DOE plus benefits inc: 25 days + BH's & flexible working, pension matched up to 8% by employer & pool car/fuel card provided.
