Hours: f/t 37.5 pw

The Trust’s Estates Management Directorate is seeking a Construction Health & Safety Manager to be part of its capital projects team, initially based at the Northern General Hospital.

The team are responsible for the delivery of the Trusts capital programme of approx £30M per annum across five separate hospitals and a range of community based properties in Sheffield.

The primary job responsibilities of the post will be providing technical support for design teams/principal designers and the development of safety plans with contractors for the construction phase in order to comply with CDM 15 Regulations together with safety monitoring of on site works.

Other duties will include line management of the departments Asbestos Assurance Coordinator, developing worker induction systems and training, assessment of contractor competence and contribute to the development of the information management systems.

You’ll be educated to NEBOSH Construction Certificate level and hold a NEBOSH General Diploma. You should be a Chartered Member of a relevant professional body (IOSH) and have a substantial experience in a construction safety environment which should include acting as a CDM Coordinator (under the previous CDM Regulation 2007).
