A leading property, residential, construction and services group are adding a SHE manager in Exeter.

Your new company

My client is a Top 20 construction company who invest in builds, maintaining and renewing the places where people work, live and play. The business sector has a proven track record in the development of land and the building of new communities.

Your new role

The Safety, Health and Environmental Manager role (37.5 hours/week) will report to the Regional SHE Manager, with 1 direct report - a SHE Advisor. The position is based in Exeter and covers 9 sites in the South West from Cornwall to Bridgend. This is a mobile role so a Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

The SHE Manager will be responsible for the co-ordination and provision of all SHE support to the Business Unit; carried out in a manner wholly consistent with the company's SHE policies.

What you'll need to succeed

My client are ideally looking for someone from a residential background, but strong construction experience is essential.

The successful applicant will be working towards or hold a degree (or equivalent) in Health and Safety. A Grad/Chartered Membership of IOSH is preferable (or demonstrable IPD/CPD equivalent) with a detailed understanding of SHE legislation. A good working knowledge of ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 Standards will also be an advantage.

As SHE Manager, you must be methodical & able to follow through on all tasks, possess good oral/written communication skills at all levels of the business and demonstrate excellent training skills/ability for public speaking.
