Health and Safety Advisor - Retail/DC
A unique opportunity for a qualified health and safety professional to join a large family owned UK leading Retail Company with excellent career progression.
This rapidly growing company was voted one of the fastest growing companies in the Sunday times in 2014. It’s a great time for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join the team and support with the development of a positive health and safety culture and H&S strategies for the company moving forward.
They’ve recently had external investment who are now driving a more structured approach to this progressive company. Therefore they are now seeking an individual who is looking for the chance to establish a brand new role within the business and grow with the company. Naturally this role will require drive, determination, self-discipline and key influencing skills.
The successful candidate must have a solid record in promoting a positive health and safety culture at all levels and have the ability to engage and influence people from the shop floor up to board level. This is the fantastic opportunity for a candidate who enjoys a varied role.
Key responsibilities will include, developing and implementing a positive H&S culture, driving behavioural safety programmes across the board, producing, implementing and delivering inductions and H&S training, developing and updating policies and procedures, audits, site inspections, accident investigations and near misses, risk assessments, liaising with external bodies, providing regular reports for senior management, leading and managing health and safety meetings and improving health and safety performance across the board.
To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate, NCRQ or equivalent and you will ideally have 2 years practical hands on experience.
A UK driving licence is essential and the ability to be flexible and travel a couple of times per month to various locations throughout the UK is key. Will include overnight stays.
