Head of Health, Safety and Compliance
Are you an experienced senior Health and Safety professional who has strong leadership skills with the capability to drive a positive behavioural safety plan across a large PLC organisation and take everyone from the shop floor up to board level on a cultural journey?
Do you have a solid background in managing health and safety through communicating directions and objectives through a mixture of top down strategy and bottom up business needs?
The successful candidate
This logistics organisation is searching for a candidate who is competent to lead at a fast pace and create structure, demonstrating an immediate framework for change, changing depot behaviour with clear evidence of improvement with a proven track record of demanding a step change.
This is the ideal position for an inspirational and innovative HSEQ lead who is able to work in a matrix management environment. You will be responsible for a number of direct and in-direct reports. You must have experience recruiting, leading and developing health and safety teams, proving effective leadership to maximise performance.
To be considered for this role you must be tenacious, resilient and have gravitas, you must be able to drive change and lead on all health and safety matters across a large business.
Previous experience managing budgets, developing and implementing procedures and policies, meeting H&S and compliance targets and delivering on all health and safety objectives is essential.
Do you possess bench marking mechanism with the ability to measure safety records against competitors and internally? You will be confident in completing a gap analysis and making strong improvement plans with a solid background in working proactively implementing and embedding a secure H&S strategy.
You will need to be very diverse and be confident communicating to the PLC with corporate updates and management of depot and regional managers.
You will be confident in building key relationships with local authorities, inspectors, executive boards, regional directors and the HSE.
To be considered for this role you must have a minimum of the NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ or equivalent and you will hold a minimum of CMIOSH status.
A UK driving licence is essential and the ability to be flexible and travel to various locations throughout the UK is key.
