This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join a world renowned manufacturing business in their site in Telford which has around 1000 staff. They are a global company who are a leader in their field, with sites across the world to support their growing customer base. You will report into the MD and sit as part of the leadership team.
You will be expected to work closely with the MD and the corporate functions to create the strategy of the site. You will then work closely with your direct report to implement and action the plan. There is an aim to work towards zero serious accidents, continue to drive best practice and improve and develop cultural change programmes. They have ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 in place so it will be your responsibility to manage and maintain this. There are safety champions on site who are not being utilised so experience in upskilling safety champions and reps would be beneficial. Although this role is tactical it is also equally important you are engaging with shop floor staff and gaining their buy in.
What is needed from you:
• NEBOSH Diploma level (or equivalent).
• Management systems experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
• You must have worked in a high risk, fast paced, multi-faceted manufacturing business.
• Someone who can influence with authority and gravitas.
• Strength of character and assertive when needed.
• Solutions focused and pragmatic in their approach.
• Engaging and approachable.
