Head of Quality and Environment
The HSE Network are recruiting on behalf of a joint venture between a leading facilities management company and a University in the South East for a Head of Quality and Environment.
They require the Head of Quality and Environment to support the regional FM teams’ performance by monitoring, coaching managers, advising on good practice and auditing the Quality and Environmental management activities.
This role will involve working in close relation with the partnerships Head of Health and Safety, the University Director of Health and Safety and the facilities management QSHE team. You will lead a team of two Senior Advisors and an environmental intern, as well as heading up the environmental focus groups. Having a background of working in higher education or within a local authority are heavily advantageous for this role.
Other responsibilities, amongst others, would include retaining the partnerships British Standards Institute accreditations (9001, 14001 and 18001), lead environmental activities with the objective of becoming a ‘Top 20 Peoples and Planet league performer’ and develop effective, collaborative relationships which will positively improve the health and safety culture within the estate.
As the successful Head of Quality and Environment, you will have:
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) (preferable)
• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
• Higher education/local authority experience (Extremely desirable)
• Demonstrable track record of working sufficiently with other senior figures
• Auditing experience
• Solid, up to date knowledge of QSHE principals, practices and legislation
• Excellent management and communication skills
• Ability to positively persuade and influence within an organisation
