We have been retained by North West Logistics Ltd to identify an experienced SHEQ Manager based to be based on Lancashire.
This company has over 50 lorries with a variance in tonnage which gives them a huge USP to carry out bespoke transportation services across the UK and into Europe.
The role reports to company’s Managing Director
As a minimum this SHEQ Manager must have relevant experience in both Health & Safety management and ISO implementation and maintenance of the systems (not just auditing). We are looking ideally for a NEBOSH qualified candidate, or equivalent status e.g. IOSH at the relevant level may be acceptable.
Preferably they will have experience of the logistics industry, but not essential. We operate a fleet of almost fifty heavy goods vehicles, and we also operate a 100,000 square foot warehouse on site.
The company are We are ISO 9001 accredited and also operate to the FORS silver standard. In the warehouse they store hazardous as well as non-hazardous goods and so they have COMAH lower tier which is directly regulated by the HSE. Moreover We are also a member of the Chemical Business Association.
We want the incumbent to manage and progress all our SHEQ systems and procedures. We also want this to be an interactive role, where the candidate works not only with management, but also with our direct operatives, which are drivers and warehouse staff.
This would therefore include regular tool box talks and ongoing training and updates on all SHEQ matters.
