A leading marine business are adding a talented Head of SHEQ to their successful team, based in Hamble.

Your new company

My client are a leading marine business who can boast experienced and professionally qualified specialists in all aspects of marina development and operations. In addition to multiple locations in the south of England, they also have offices in Europe.

Your new role

As Head of SHEQ, you will report to the Managing Director with no direct reports, but responsibility across the business. Based in Hamble, you will be responsible for multiple sites within the company portfolio in a varied, mobile role. You will be the directional lead for the safety, health, environment and quality assurance in the business.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting in the effective delivery of the 5 Year Plan for the company, working closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects safely, effectively and with consideration and utilising technology/best practice to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability are achieved. You will work closely with marina managers to ensure delivery of operational process and systems in accordance with the quality management systems. Ensuring the users and employees on site remain safe and secure at all times.

Key working relationships include:

Internal; working with marina team members and other departments to achieve site objectives, whilst complying with all company policies and procedures. External; customers, tenants, suppliers and contractors, coastguard, other emergency services and various statutory bodies and organisations.

What you'll need to succeed

The company are ideally looking for a Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or someone working towards. Qualifications in Fire Safety, Environmental and/or Quality systems will be an advantage too. You must have at least 3 years' experience in a SHEQ Management role, preferably in Marine, Construction, FM or Engineering sectors. A good working knowledge of ISO 9001/14001/18001, relevant marine standards and current legislation will be a benefit to the role.

As previously mentioned, this is a mobile, multi-site role so you must have full access to a vehicle at all times.

The company are offering a market-led salary of £45,000-£55,000 (DOE) plus generous car allowance, 23 days holiday + BH's (raising to 25 days on service), pension, private healthcare and a discretionary bonus.
