Head of Health & Safety
A leading MOD business are adding a strategic Head of Health & Safety to their team in Tidworth, Wiltshire.
Your new company
Alongside the MOD, my client will manage and deliver a modern, flexible living and working environment for soldiers in the Wiltshire area that will support the UK military. The company specialise in the delivery of major construction and demolition projects with an established supply chain and in-house expertise in project management and the management of associated environmental and health and safety issues.
They offer a variety of services including: estates management and maintenance, grounds maintenance, stores, security, transport, office services, administration, sport and leisure.
Your new role
As Head of Health & Safety, you will provide the strategic H&S framework for the business with supporting policies, procedures and processes to ensure that the business complies with its H&S legislative and contractual requirements.
- Ensure that the H&S policies and associated management system documentation are developed, adopted, embedded and maintained/complied with in line with business, legislative and OHSAS 18001 requirements.
- Review contractors' management systems and advise of their suitability.
- Provide direction on H&S training across the business.
This is a mobile role so a Full UK Driving Licence is required. Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30-5 or 9-5.30 (37.5 hours/week).
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a strong leader with the ability to influence people at all levels of the business, having reported to director/board level. You must have a degree (or equivalent) in H&S and be an ISO 18001 Auditor. It is essential that you have proven H&S management/technical experience of working in an engineering, construction or building services environment.
