Place of work: London (Wembley) although this role will also involve frequent travel and overnight stays across the UK and Ireland.

The role:

The IKEA Group faces an exciting journey ahead in becoming a leading multichannel retailer where customer fulfillment will be crucial in delivering our long term ambitions.

As part of this exciting journey we are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Safety and Security Manager to lead a proactive, risk based approach to the management of health, safety & security risks within the Customer Fulfillment Operation.

The Customer Fulfilment Operation is part of the IKEA retail business.  Its function is to make the IKEA products and core services available for customers, whenever and wherever they choose to purchase them. It includes distribution services, retail logistics operations and other service businesses such as home delivery, assembly and installation.

This new role will involve strategic focused tasks, such as developing and implementing tools, methods and frameworks for improving Safety and Security Compliance across all areas of the Customer Fulfillment Operation.  It will also involve operational focused tasks, such as completing workplace inspections, undertaking accident investigation as well as supporting local managers to mitigate risk and to improve safety compliance on their site.

The Requirements:

The successful candidate will be trained to at least NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety level or equivalent and will be a chartered or technical member of IOSH.

You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of managing safety and security risks and identifying opportunities within a high volume and fast moving logistics, transport and warehousing environment.

As this is a senior role within the IKEA UK & Ireland Risk and Compliance function you will be a strong leader and will be able to give examples of where this skill has been put to good use in effecting positive change within your current or previous employment.

You will also possess strong stakeholder management skills as success in this role will involve influencing a large number of internal and external stakeholders, including senior IKEA management.

A full UK driving licence is also required.
