This is a unique opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business on a lower tier COMAH site as their Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager on a fast paced manufacturing site.

The organisation has grown significantly in the last 10 years and are truly leaders in their field. With a 90 acre site and over 500 staff they are in need of a fantastic and experienced HSE manager to lead the business and their team of 3 to the next level in their health and safety journey. You will be at the forefront of creating and implementing the health and safety strategy for the business who need a leader to bring EHS to the forefront of the organisation. Someone who has the strength of character to drive strategy from the board to the shop floor, championing a positive culture.

You will be given the autonomy to create EHS policies an procedures in line with ISO standards, devise and develop effective risk management strategies and overall drive best practice. You will be the COMAH expert and as such the point of contract for regulatory bodies. You will improve and monitor leading and lagging indicators to then drive improvements. You will keep informed the senior management team of progress, changes and the overarching strategy which includes their responsibility.

This role requires a senior health and safety professional who has the ability to set strategy and create a culture of accountability at site level, always mindful of the reputational impact on the organisation. That said you must be involved in and a visible presence in the day-to-day operations, and be able to move effortlessly between micro and macro challenges. As such you must demonstrate your ability to build relationships, encourage accountability and promote ongoing training and development through a motivational leadership style.

Key Experience and Background:
• NEBOSH, NVQ, NCRQ Diploma or Degree level qualified in Occupational Health and Safety
• COMAH experience is essential
• Manufacturing experience is also essential. A chemical or pharmaceutical environment would be beneficial
• Man management experience, especially in upskilling a team
• Someone who has taken a business through a period of change in improving the perception of health and safety with positive results

For this role you will be offered a salary of between £60,000-75,000 + package and if you are considering relocation for a fantastic opportunity such as this then a relocation package will be offered in addition.
