Environmental & Sustainability Manager                                             £34K - £36,500 + Bonus +Benefits

Due to extensive growth an opportunity for an Environmental and Sustainability Manager has become open to work in a unique cutting edge Manufacturer on a permanent basis, for their advanced Manufacturing site on the coast of Devon. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and golden beaches this is the perfect opportunity for someone looking for good quality of life.

This is a great opportunity for someone to work in one of the worlds most advanced production facilities, working in a unique environment with cutting edge production techniques and craftsmanship.

The successful Environmental and Sustainability Manager must hold a degree or higher national diploma (HND), degree or IOSH Diploma in Environmental management or an environment-related subject which includes but is not limited to; environmental sciences/management, biosciences, applied science’. You will be a chartered member of IEMA with demonstrable experience performing in a similar role within manufacturing/ industry/ maritime sector etc. You must also be Lead auditor trained.

Reporting to the Group Head of Safety, Health and Environmental you will be responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of the organisation and for developing, implementing and monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainable development.

Implementing environmental policies and practices, devising strategies to meet targets and to encourage best practice and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation. Devising the best tools and systems to monitor performance and to implement strategies and assessing, analysing and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, clients and regulatory bodies.

You will confirm materials, ingredients and so on are ethically or environmentally sourced whilst managing environmental strategy budgets (assisting Group Head of SHE) and acting as an expert for environmental issues within the organisation. Providing environmental training structure to staff at all levels.

Keeping up to date with relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives including international legislation where applicable. Producing educational or information resources for internal staff, clients or the general public and liaising with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency/ local authority/ MCA.

As the Environmental & Sustainability Manager you will have a strong sense of passion and focus, being able to provide solutions that meet the needs of multiple functions whilst building and enhancing the effectiveness of processes across multiple disciplines and sites. Knowledge of Environmental standards is essential ISO 14001-2015
