Do you LOVE trains? Do you LOVE safety? If the answer is YES to both of those we may have the perfect job for you... read on...!

What do we have on offer??

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety professional to join the team down in London at our Bounds Green Depot. You’ll have the opportunity to influence across the engineering depot, providing expert health & safety support & guidance to the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager and the Estates team.

What will you do??

Your influencing & persuading will ultimately aim improve health and safety standards & health and safety culture across the depot.

Achieving this will be a challenge; however, the tools you have available to enable you to keep your continuous professional development going is really important, helping us stay compliant in this heavily regulated & safety focussed industry.

Supporting the Health, Safety & Environmental Manager in developing, preparing & implementing new & exciting HSE policies, procedures & systems will provide you with a platform to see some real change. This will demonstrate that health & safety is of course integral to the business both operationally & commercially. You will achieve this through detailed reports, accident and incident investigation & carrying out risk assessments – these again will help you develop ever better safe systems of work once trends have been identified.

Hopefully you will enjoy being out and about in the depot, this is essential if you want to change the hearts and minds of our engineering teams, someone who is actually visible and can implement change on the shop floor. Along with being visible, you will own the safety boards, first aid and all visual impact. Again, this is a real chance for you to make health & safety at the forefront of everyone’s minds.

You will also provide support to the Facilities Manager; raising Ebis orders for new products, parts and or spares for the Estates department.. COSHH is a key risk in the depot, your knowledge will help with facilities team ensure that all items are assessed, recorded, stored & disposed of in the correct way & building an effective relationship with the Managers to ensure this is industry leading.

Building relationships across the depot is key as any Health & Safety professional knows. We have health & safety reps across the depot and across the business that you will have to influence & support to raise awareness, change behaviour and share ideas across the route.

What do we need you to be?

We look for motivated, energetic people who have good knowledge of IT systems, including Windows, Word, Excel, if you have an understanding of bespoke applications SOROS & Sypol that would be amazing but is not essential, we can teach you that!

You should have demonstrable experience of influencing & challenging behaviour & be excited to use the influence through the shop floor through to our Directors when they are on site.

Be an expert on the ISO standards. We are really keen on ensuring we keep our standards, maintain and improving them & of course looking at new standards we may be able to introduce to make us even better!

The NEBOSH General Certificate is desirable but not essential (in this case you MUST have previous Health & Safety experience)
