Exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join a market leader manufacturing giant. Working extensively through the construction and manufacturing industry offering a diverse role within a fast past heavy industrial environment.

As the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager you will ensure appropriate systems and processes are created, maintained and compliant with all current relevant Health and Safety legislation. Ensuring that the workforce are informed, trained and competent in both safety awareness and environmental issues, facilitating training for employees as required.

You will monitor, review and report on safety performance on site with appropriate maintenance and reviewing of accident/incident records. Whilst maintaining company statutory safety records and making statutory returns as required. You will be a member of the site health and safety committee, ensuring that any recommendations are effected in a correct and timely manner.

To fully participate in discussion of environmental, health and safety issues during the planning, procurement, implementation and operational phases of installing new and upgraded machinery and significant process change of existing equipment.

As the Environmental, Health and safety Manager you will develop, provide and maintain key performance indicators to measure progress and report on EHS performance, liaising with other EHS practitioners to share best practice. Whilst ensuring appropriate contact with outside bodies such as local community. Local and national regulatory bodies.

The successful Environmental, Health and Safety Manager must be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and hold the Environmental management course – diploma level, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment. You will have strong, current knowledge of Environmental legislation and strong familiarity with PPC regulations and procedures. It is essential to hold RPS (Radiological Protection Supervisor) and be qualified as a lead auditor in ISO14001.
