You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will join the existing H&S team. Reporting to the Faculty Technical Operations Manager you will act as a focal point for all Occupational Health and Safety related topics and concerns whilst providing accurate and practical Health and Safety advice and assistance to all staff and student groups. You will support the Faculty in ensuring processes fully meet legal obligations under current Health and Safety legislation. You will support and assist in the development of a world class safety culture in the Faculty of Engineering.

You will be a hands-on, pragmatic, people-orientated individual, with demonstrable influencing skills. You will be a team player with the ability to engage collaboratively with staff at different levels, organise your own time effectively and have a flexible approach as the work demands can change.

You should hold the NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, an equivalent qualification or have the relevant experience. You should have significant experience in a similar or related role in engineering. Previous experience in a Higher Education environment is desirable but not essential.

This is a full time, 36.25 hours per week, permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.
