Health & Safety Manager
Health and Safety Manager role at fast growing specialist contractor, based in the Essex area.
Your new company
Our client is a large specialist construction contractor, leader in the Fit Out Construction sector. In order to expand their HSE team, they are currently recruiting for a Construction Health & Safety Manager.
Your new role
Reporting directly to the Director of HSE, you will be part of a team of 5. You will be responsible for Health and Safety for the national construction projects division.
On daily basis, you will have the responsibility of H&S management system, and assisting site teams and the directors by implementing in all areas of the business. You will attend internal occupational Health and Safety meetings; and also weekly / monthly site H&S meetings with client PC and site managers; you will provide training and inductions.
On daily basis you will conduct formal risk assessments on all work tasks undertaken on sites, and develop further control measures where safety needs to be improved; maintain scheme memberships and accreditations - Chas, FSC, Fors, Achilles etc.
A key responsibility will be also the development of construction project RAMS, project documents, Quality plans, and managing the approval processes. You will work closely to the Construction Director to look after the business unit safety culture.
You will work on site as well as in office (Based in Essex), dealing with multiple projects, travelling nationally the 50% of your time. You will be able to organise your workload and your diary/travels.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have solid background in Construction, ideally working for a large Principal Contractor. You will have also a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, excellent communication skills and a passion for Health and Safety.
