A Fire Safety Advisor to join a successful local council on a 12m FTC - Bournemouth (0.6 - 3 days/week).

My client are a successful local council who have exciting plans for future growth, based on their core values that serve the local borough.

Your new role

Please note that I have recruited for a full-time position with this client recently and this is an additional part-time role on a 12m Fixed Term Contract (FTC).

As a part-time Fire Safety Advisor, you will report to the Corporate Fire Safety Manager. The successful candidate will provide specialist fire safety advice and guidance to all service units across the Council including community schools in the Borough in accordance with building regulations, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and other appropriate legislation and to promote a positive fire safety culture across the organisation.

This role will have contact with colleagues at different levels, elected members, schools/academies, external organisations including local Fire and Rescue, agencies, builders, developers and members of the public.

This is a mobile role covering multiple locations so you must hold a Full UK Driving Licence. 22 hours/week over 3 days between Monday-Friday, but flexible within these days as agreed by your Line Manager.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate must hold a professional fire safety/fire risk assessment qualification, with Membership of a fire safety body. You should have experience of carrying out fire risk assessments, inspections and audits. Experience of preparing and delivering fire safety training and working within a large complex organisation will be an advantage too.

This position will ideally suit a fire consultant, fire officer or an ex-fire fighter looking for a varied role within a positive, developing team.
