Due to continuous growth and expansion this leading waste management giant has a brand new exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Officer, to join their successful group in a fast paced environment where they can really make their mark in this multi-site role based in Surrey. This is the perfect role for a Health and Safety Officer looking for a hands on boots on the ground opportunity.
As the Health and Safety Officer you will have a background in a Waste, Heavy Plant Industry or Industrial environment. The successful candidate must have a minimum of NEBOSH general with an awareness of the relevant management standards OHSAS18001, ISO9001 and ISO14001 however you do not need to be compliance orientated as you will interact daily with the Health and Safety Compliance Officer who will manage this function.
You will have knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and have an understanding of the current environmental and sustainability legislation with a proactive and self-motivated attitude.
The successful candidate will take pride in delivering high quality and accurate work whilst having the ability to problem solve and communicate at all levels of the business with a hands on approach. With the ability to keep calm in times of pressure as this is an extremely busy role and working environment.
As the Health and Safety Officer you will actively monitor, maintain and manage risk assessments, SSOW and method statements. You will report all health and safety issues on site in an efficient and professional manner, in order to reduce risk of injury to all employees.
