Health & Safety Advisor
Health and Safety Advisor for a Construction sub-contractor based in Central London.
Your new company
Our client is a medium size Specialist Sub-Contractor specialised in refurbishment and construction projects for main PCs in Central London. In order to expand their team, they are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor.
Your new role
The successful candidate's main responsibility will be to help initial site set ups and to carry out periodic audits/inspections on our sites to ensure all are safe and compliant. This is a key role to ensure the processes and procedures put in place to manage health and safety are followed on site through out each project from commencement to completion. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of H&S, with a drive to ensure the health, safety and well being of all stakeholders.
On daily basis you will conduct site audits to ensure compliance with the H&S Plan, current legislation and HSE guidelines; ensure corrective measures or temporary arrangements are put in place on active sites to address any highlighted issues from audits to ensure sites are safe and compliant; identify and implement improvements on an ongoing and timely basis, sharing good practice techniques across the company; provide guidance and training to site management teams and provide emergency assistance to address any issues as they arise on site; work closely with high level management and our H&S Consultants to develop and improve both the role and the companies policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety on site.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have previous significant experience in Construction, NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate and ideally Tech IOSH Membership as a minimum.
You will also have good communication skills and the ability to organise your diary and workload.
