Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor

As the Environment, Health and Safety Advisor will form part of the existing EHS team and assist the EHS Manger on all matters relating to the management of EHS within R&C facilities. You will need to proactively participate within the Environmental, Health and Safety team offering solutions to many situations as they arise and actively promote and support a positive EHS culture.
The EHS Advisor will deputise for the EHS Manager where appropriate and occasionally need to travel to the sister site in London.
You will be qualified to a minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate or similar Health & Safety Qualification with previous Environmental, Health and Safety experience / proven background in an industrial, process driven or engineering setting. With working knowledge of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, COMAH and Environmental Permitting. It is desirable to hold a Science/Engineering degree or other relevant qualifications.
The EHS Advisor role will be extremely demanding and the successful candidate will be required to take a lead in many EHS activities whist maintaining the day to day requirements of the role, therefore an ability plan and organise workloads and effectively multitask is needed.
Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multitask is a crucial part of the job, therefore the ability to plan and organise workloads effectively is required. You will provide advice, support and coaching to site. Dealing with day to day EHS related operational issues, e.g. risk assessments and responding to general queries.
Supporting the creation of, implement and delivery of the EHS plan and EHS Improvement Programme. Providing specialist advice for specialist safety programs and activities including human factors analysis, hazard studies, PHR’s and LOPA.
Maintain and further develop Safe Systems of Work related to Permit to Work, Confined Space Entry, Isolation and Lock Off and Working at Height. Undertake internal audits in line with international standards. Whilst providing general EHS support and input to process safety assessments such as HAZOP.
