Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is looking for an exceptional individual with excellent communication skills, capable of maintaining existing standards, whilst further enhancing health and safety performance within the University.

To support this NTU is striving to appoint a competent health and safety practitioner, with the right skills/experience and passion for improving staff health, safety and wellbeing.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Safety and Wellbeing, the role will be responsible for:

  • The provision of professional advice to the Professional Services and College Management Teams.
  • Advising and supporting the delivery of health and safety compliance within the Colleges.
  • Acting as professional lead in all local health and safety related matters for staff and students.
  • Working closely with both the NTU Safety and Wellbeing, Human Resources and Occupational Health teams to ensure that health and safety compliance is delivered by driving continuous improvement and both preventing and controlling occupational risks within the University.

NTU are seeking candidates who:

  • Are a Chartered Member of IOSH (or working towards this)
  • Hold a NEBOSH diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or equivilant 
  • Have a good up to date knowledge of workplace health and safety issues.
  • Ideally would have demonstrable experience in implementing health and safety in industry or the Higher Educational sector.
  • Have experience of delivering training to all levels of staff.
