Health and Safety Manager

ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join the G&H Group - a growing, specialist M&E company that works across a range of sectors.

You will be appropriately qualified to oversee all activities from a health and safety perspective within the Group’s five divisions - Building Services, Renewables, Maintenance, Fabrication and Air Conditioning - working on schemes ranging in value up to c£10 million.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all work and documentation meets the latest and strictest health and safety regulations
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest health and safety legislation and implement immediately
  • Safety compliance monitoring and auditing of all health and safety assessments 

  • Carry out risk assessments, risk compliance, site safety inspections and audits
  • Deliver specific safety training programmes and tool box talks
to relevant staff
  • Carry out company inductions and maintain records
  • Manage accuracy of documents held on site 

  • Act as the point of contact for HSE / EHO / insurers / senior management 

  • Develop construction plans and act as main point of contact throughout every scheme
  • Check sub-contractor RAMS and questionnaire responses and monitor progress 

  • Install and manage new Occupational Health and HR procedures
  • Attend and plan meetings as required to further site working and safety issues 

  • Regularly report and update the Board of Directors

  • Attend clients’ health and safety seminars and meetings

CRITERIA

  • Fully qualified in relevant construction and mechanical and electrical related health and safety
  • Experience of leading the health and safety agenda across a group of G&H’s size (140 members of staff)
  • Excellent working knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation
  • Ability to keep up-to-date with all relevant legislative changes and implement immediately to ensure compliance at all times
  • An outstanding leader who can command the respect of all members of staff
  • Excellent people skills to communicate on site and in the Board room
  • Relevant CSCS card
