SHEQ Manager

HSE Recruitment are currently working with a fast growing and dynamic business, supporting them in their search for a SHEQ Manager on a 6 month contract basis, to be based from their new Derby site. You will work under the leadership of the SHEQ director who is inspiring, innovative, ambitious and ready to enact change in an industry that is keen to move forward. You will be a key piece of the wider HSEQ team, driving the safety standards up and improving the perception (and reality) of health and safety.

This site is a new energy from waste site going through a commissioning phase currently, so as a result requires someone with extensive knowledge of both the build and commissioning phase of an energy from waste plant, but also the operation of, in order to fully support the existing site team during this period of growth and change. It is imperative that you are a well rounded professional with knowledge and experience of not only Health and Safety, but also environmental and quality concerns - including ROCS, IPPC permits and waste concerns amongst other issues. CDM knowledge is also imperative as well as strong and extensive experience of creating permit to works across a variety of activities, as this will be a major project for the site. Other issues on site include DSEAR, LOLER, PUWER, COMAH etc. You will have NEBOSH General or construction certificate as a minimum and ideally will have some sort of environmental qualification/membership (although we will accept significant environmental experience rather than a qualification in this instance).

This role will be offered on a day rate contract basis for an initial period of 6 months, with potential to extend to a year long contract. The role will be offered on a rate of circa £225 for 5 days per week, but we can consider higher rates for exceptional candidates on a 3/4 day per week basis.
