Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor – Operations

We are looking for a highly motivated and influential Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Advisor to join the SHE team based at our facility at Warton in Lancashire.

As a BAE Systems SHE Advisor, you will be responsible for providing competent and professional safety, health and environmental advice and support to our business operations.

This role will involve leading a small team of SHE associates across the site managing both your own and their workload – this could include a number of site projects spanning across the business.

The role, whilst based at our Warton site, may involve travelling and working at our sites across the UK or worldwide travel.

Your main responsibilities as a Safety, Health and Environmental Advisor - Operations will involve: 

Delivering expert SHE advice and coaching to ensure compliance with the appropriate health, safety and environmental legislation, guidance and best practice across the Air business

Supporting the rest of the business and providing coaching using SHE knowledge in order to enforce and improve SHE processes and procedures, and safe systems of work

Providing support with the implementation and maintenance of the SHE Management System certified to OHSAS18001 and ISO14001

Being an ambassador for cultural change and having the ability to influence and promote a positive SHE culture within the organisation

Leading on risk assessments and accident/incident analysis where appropriate, along with a wide variety of related tasks that fall within this diverse role

Your skills and qualifications:

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or Equivalent (or a Degree in a relevant subject)

Previous experience of working as a SHE professional

Experience in the area of Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Management would also be a distinct advantage

Salary: £43, 268+
