Safety, Health and Environment Advisor - SHE Governance and Strategy

Would you like to be a part of one of the world’s leading companies for Safety performance; we are looking for a highly motivated and influential Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor - SHE Governance and Strategy to join our team based BAE Systems Samlesbury.

As a Safety, Health and Environment Advisor - SHE Governance and Strategy you will be responsible for providing competent and professional safety, health and environmental advice and support to our business operations.

Whilst the role is challenging and wide-ranging, you will be part of a wider team of SHE professionals, where you can expect to be provided with a high level of support and development to ensure you are equipped to meet the challenges that the role provides.

Your main responsibilities as a Safety, Health and Environment Advisor - SHE Governance and Strategy will involve: 

Developing and implementing the SHE strategy, including underpinning governance requirements and SHE Management System (certified to OHSAS18001 and ISO14001) including compiling policies and procedures covering all of our operations. Some travel within the UK and overseas may be required

Developing and reviewing the SHE training programmes

Leading on risk assessments and accident / incident analysis where appropriate; along with a wide variety of related tasks that fall within this diverse role

Being an ambassador for cultural change; influencing and promoting a positive SHE culture at all levels

Your skills and qualifications as a Safety, Health and Environment Advisor - SHE Governance and Strategy

NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (or an equivalent qualification at QCF/NVQ level 5 or above in a relevant subject) and ideally a Chartered Member of IOSH

Proven experience in improving SHE performance, with a very good working knowledge of UK SHE regulation and SHE management approaches

The ability to promote change and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Word and Excel

Experienced in bringing together groups of stakeholders with a variety of different perspectives / priorities to successfully deliver desired common objectives

Desirable:

Experience of SHE management approaches in an international setting

Qualifications and/or working experience in the area of Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Management would also be a distinct advantage

We are looking for an individual who has excellent communication skills, both written and verbally. You will need to have strong sense of prioritisation and be able to manage your own workload with minimal supervision.

Salary: £43, 268 +
