Your new company
A leading Pharmaceutical Wholesalers based in Hertfordshire who run a 24 hour operation across multiple sites. They are home to nearly 500 warehouse and office staff and need a passionate health & safety assistant to support the current manager to assist with general health, safety & fire duties.

Your new role
Your new role will include helping the Health & Safety Manager in developing safe systems of work and ensure that health & safety systems are adhered to. You will provide training to the workforce, assist with risk assessment document writing, support the manager in developing health & safety plans and assist with fire alarm testing and fire safety audits. This an a diverse and challenging role but training will be provided. You will support warehouse and office managers in maintaining a health & safety environment, visit sites and manage accident and incidents in accordance with RIDDOR.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful you will need to hold the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health & Safety or equivalent, be able to work afternoon & evening shifts Monday to Friday and have basic Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills. They are looking for a good understanding of health & safety legislation, a good attitude to problem solving and implementing actions as well as clear and precise communication skills both verbally and written. They are looking for someone with the right outlook for health & safety and who will develop and grow into the role.

What you'll get in return
In return you will receive a salary of £27,500 rising to £30,000 on completion of 1 year. Benefits include 28 days annual leave as well as continual training and development. This is a great stepping opportunity into a health & safety role with a strong manager to mentor you in addition to growing a skills portfolio.
