HSE Recruitment Network are proud to represent this leading food manufacturing organisation, who are seeking an Sustainability Officer to support the sustainability team in successfully developing sustainable working practices, specifically looking at environmental, social and human right factors
Reporting to the Head of Sustainability and will be a key member of the team based at one location, however there will be ad-hoc travel to other sites to share best practice.

Main responsibilities :-
• Review customer sustainability strategies, identify gaps in our alignment
• Monitor sites activity to drive sustainable standards across the group
• Support suppliers risk assessments and make suitable recommendations to support ethical compliance
• Work cross functionally and collate and analyse the sites sustainability data and produce reports for management and external bodies
• Promote sustainable working practices across the sites through different mediums
• Shadow auditors on site and advise the workforce on how to maintain certification
• Monitor sustainability and environmental impacts across the supply chains with a focus on ethical trading
• Support the development of risk assessments for ethical and environmental supply chain impacts
• Be a key individual within sustainability projects across the group working cross functionally with colleagues in the wider sustainability, technical, purchasing and development teams eg, reduction in use of packaging
• Promote more sustainable practices across the group and advise sites on new ways of working

Essential experience required:-
• Relevant degree or work experience – recent graduates welcome
• Knowledge of relevant environmental and sustainability issues and upcoming media trends
• Working understanding of manufacturing environments
• Strong analytical skills and data management
• Strong communication skills with a clear and methodical style
• Training experience
