Environmental, Health & Safety Officer                 

Exciting opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Officer to join this internationally respected industry leader within the manufacturing and recycling sector. This is the perfect opportunity for an Environmental, Health and Safety Officer looking to join an organisation where you can really make your mark, within a successful organisation that is dedicated to Health and Safety with a heavy environmental responsibility.

The successful candidate must be qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH General with at least 3 years’ experience in compliance gained within a heavy industrial environment. You will be IEMA or CIEH qualified or equivalent with strong familiarity with ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO9001 and ISO45001. A general understanding of engineering/mechanical principles is also desirable.

Reporting to the site Operations Manager you will be responsible for ensuring compliance of all relevant statutory, company and site specific requirements and best practices. The role is weighted towards Environmental compliance, you will be responsible for providing routine reports whilst liaising with Environment agency on all permitting matters, maintaining all EA permits and regulations.

Whilst the main focus of the role will be Environmental Compliance the successful candidate will also support the management team with Health and Safety issues, promoting a positive safety culture and providing an interface between the Quality team and senior management.
