One Manchester is an innovative provider of housing and community services formed in April 2015 from a historic merger between two of Manchester’s largest housing associations – City South and Eastlands Homes. In the subsequent three years the Group has achieved its initial merger aspirations and is now extending and expanding (doubling) its new homes programme across a range of tenures and locations. We currently own and manage more than 12,000 homes in central, south and east Manchester.

Following a review of our Health & Safety/compliance team,a newly created opportunity has arisen to ensure One Manchester are pro actively complying with legislation with regard to fire and associated internal policies and procedures .

You will act as the responsible person for fire under the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) order 2005 and as the ‘Building Safety Manager’ responsible for high rise residential buildings safety cases as recommended under the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety.

You will manage a cyclical programme of fire risk assessments and ensure all actions and recommendations required are addressed

Applicants must have:

  • A relevant Fire Safety qualification accredited by the IFE or IFSM or equivalent.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or working towards)
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a property services or asset management environment or fire Service experience in a fire safety/prevention role with an understanding of the social housing environment.
  • Experience of applying fire safety legislation and delivering fire safety improvement programmes.
  • Experience of managing Contractors to successfully undertake regulatory compliance works to occupied and leasehold properties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
