Transport H&S Manager

Major retailer with Head Office in Liverpool are looking to recruit a transport H&S manager. Permanent role

Your new company
A retailer that began trading in the 70's and has grown to become one of Britain's most recognisable brands. The company have grown to over 380 stores and employ almost 20,000 staff nationally. They have plans in the pipeline to rapidly increase their presence to almost 800 stores with over 30,000 staff.

Your new role
The transport manager will be responsible for managing H&S for the transport department including vehicle maintenance. You will ensure a safe workplace environment, ensure that all policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and regularly reviewed. You will manage a planned program of safety inspections and audits in addition to completing and reviewing risk assessments. The idea of this role is to eliminate all accidents but in the unlikely event that an incident occurs you will led the investigations and implement preventative measure to avoid repeat incidents. You will be required to attend and chair H&S meetings and produce reports and contribute to the overall continuous improvement of the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be enthusiastic, positive, able to manage workload and prioritise. You will an experienced leader who is able to manage and motivate teams and also have the ability to communicate at all levels. You will have a methodical approach and commercial awareness. Experience with HGV safety would be an advantage. You will be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, be a member of IOSH and CPC national certificate would also be an advantage.
