Description of the job

A vacancy for a Health and Safety Manager (ISO45001) (m/f) has arisen within Airbus (Commercial Aircraft) in Toulouse. You will join the Health and Safety Department.

Airbus is committed to introduce a ISO45001 based H&S management system. This will be achieved predominantly by this role.

Supporting the Head of Health & Safety, with particular regard to legal compliance, harmonization and organizational control, your role shall efficiently and effectively:

  • Drive continual improvement of health and safety risk and compliance management
  • Manage the implementation of an ISO45001 compliant health and safety management system
  • Work with health and safety Account Managers and their entity teams in the coordination and development of their management system activities
  • Liaise with and support other functions and stakeholders as necessary in their interaction with the health and safety management system
  • Monitor, analyze and report health and safety management system performance

Tasks and accountabilities

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

Acting as the competent authority for health and safety management system matters in the company, providing definitive and expert advice and guidance to the business Developing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring a legal and ISO45001 compliant H&S management system that executes policy and strategy, and responds to relevant external requirements Developing the H&S function management administration Monitoring external requirements and best practice and driving appropriate improvement actions Owning and maintaining the relevant Airbus HUB H&S pages, coordinating with other content owners Supporting the coordination and record keeping of the various H&S expert and management groups Actively and conspicuously promoting H&S as a positive part of Airbus culture.

Maintaining continuing professional development.

This role will involve some travel for business, usually in Europe and generally not more than once or twice each month. As such you must be able to travel accordingly.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Required skills

You will have the following skills and experience:

Minimum of Degree level education, with recognized professional qualification in a relevant discipline At least 10 years relevant practical experience, including for example:

  • Health and safety management
  • Defining and implementing management processes
  • Writing management documentation
  • Management system auditing

Experience of working as part of a dispersed, multi-national network, including external resources Demonstrable understanding of relevant key legislation and Standards such the main European health and safety Directives and ISO45001:2018 Ability to identify issues, develop logical conclusions and prioritize pragmatic, compliant solutions.

Commitment to continuing professional development in health and safety Good communication, influencing and negotiating skills Highly motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team A considerate team player with a sense of humour and a diplomatic and engaging way of working Language skills: Negotiation level of English
