Health & Safety Advisor - Sheffield
Hours- 35 per week (+5 hours paid lunch)

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety practitioner with a NEBOSH diploma (or equivalent), ideally with exposure to audit processes. The purpose of the job is to ensure that Nacro’s health & safety strategy, management systems and policies & procedures are compliant with its legal responsibilities and represent good practice. The successful candidate should be prepared to travel away from their base location for around 50% of their time and should possess a current clean driving licence.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To ensure relevant, effective advice and guidance is given to line managers
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policy and procedural requirements
- Recommend, agree and execute a programme of independent audits
- Work with line managers to ensure they take a swift and effective remedial action as appropriate
- Drive the improvement of the Health & Safety policy, procedures and practice throughout the organisation
- Championing Health and Safety at all level.
- Effective engagement with all directorates both daily at a working level and via Health and Safety Management Groups and Health & Safety Committee

PROPOSED ANNUAL LEAVE ENTITLEMENT CHANGES
Nacro is currently in discussions with Unite the Union with regards to proposed changes to our annual leave entitlement for all new staff who join the organisation from the 1st April 2019 onwards.
As of this date our proposal is as follows:
25 days annual leave (plus statutory holidays) rising by 1 extra day of annual leave for each complete year of service until a maximum of 30 days annual leave (plus 8 statutory holidays) is reached at 5 years of service Pro rata for part time employees.
The annual leave arrangements will be set out fully in the offer of employment.
