A dedicated CDM/Construction Health and Safety Advisor to join a successful local authority - Winchester.

Your new role

Joining the Property Services (Technical) Team, your role will provide a dedicated CDM/Construction Health and Safety lead for the team, co-ordinating and promoting the highest level of construction health and safety within the service and the projects the business deliver. You will work closely with both internal and external clients, consistent with legislative requirements and best practice.

Key purpose:

- Liaise with all "CDM" (Construction Design Management Regulations) duty holders - including contractors, monitoring and advising on construction related health and safety matters relating to Property Services' programmes of work.
- Provide a proactive approach to health and safety management on the delivery of projects, advocating best practice methodology in the principles of prevention. In addition, on selected high profile and complex projects, take the lead for the delivery of CDM services provided by others.
- Support the broader responsibilities of the team to deliver H&S improvements and contribute as required to corporate health and safety activities.

What you'll need to succeed

This is a vital role for the business and it is very important that the successful candidate can demonstrate a passion and positive approach to the role. You must show a desire to work for the Property Services team in a forward thinking and progressive manner.

You will need a proven track record of working within a property/construction environment as a construction health and safety specialist, with extensive CDM knowledge and practical application over a broad construction related sector.

The successful candidate will hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (Grad IOSH/NCRQ etc), ideally as a Registered Member of the association of Project Safety (RMaPS) and an Accident investigator.
