A progressive Top 20 UK University are seeking an Engineering biased H&S Manager, based in Southampton.

Your new role
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Health and Safety, this role requires an engineering health and safety specialist with a strong diverse engineering background to join a team of dedicated health and safety professionals.
Job purpose:
The main function of the role is to provide professional engineering health and safety advice to faculties within the university in controlling the risks associated with engineering environments such as workshops, this will include the development of suitable training, setting competence standards for such environments and support faculties and line managers with safe working practices.
You will be responsible for the development, implementation and review of all engineering health and safety related hazard advice and guidance to ensure that the university maintains its compliance with the relevant regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, the successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment of managing engineering related risks in a variety of settings in the higher education and/or research sectors or similar environments.
CMIOSH and a degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline will be an advantage, but Diploma level in H&S (NEBOSH/NCRQ/Grad IOSH) with proven engineering experience will be considered too.
Significant practical experience of managing and leading engineering activities and environments is another desirable skill.
