Health & Safety Manager

A leading specialist manufacturer are adding a Health and Safety Manager to their site in Verwood (Dorset).

Your new company

Established over 30 years, my client are one of the leading ventilation manufacturers in the country. With increasing capabilities of plastic injection moulding and extrusion, the business manufacture an extensive range of UK ventilation products and continue to lead the way within the domestic ventilation market. The company are part of a worldwide group that specialise in high-tech products and solutions with over 200 companies in their vast portfolio.

Your new role

As Health and Safety Manager, you will report to the Operations Manager, with responsibility for all departments at their Verwood site. The current Manager is retiring and leaves in June, so someone available with short notice will be an advantage.

The company employ more than 100 permanent staff and no temporary workers, many of whom live in the surrounding area.

Main purpose of the role:

To assist, support and advise the company, to ensure the safety of its employees and that it consistently meets all legal requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).

What you'll need to succeed

This position will ideally suit an approachable, versatile person who has worked in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment, but other industry experience will be considered. You must hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (Grad IOSH/NCRQ etc).
