Assured Safety Recruitment are partnering with a rapidly expanding organisation headquartered in Cardiff. The role of Fire Safety Officer is newly created post following a period of continued growth. You will join a small team as the specialist Fire Safety professional working across multiple locations in Cardiff and the surrounding area. 

You will ensure all properties and buildings comply with all Statutory Fire and Health and Safety Regulations, complete risk assessments and ensure assessment remedial works are delivered and provide technical fire safety advice to internal and external colleagues/contractors across the organisation.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Support the Health & Safety Manager in relation to audit and compliance, dealing with any notices from the Fire Service ensuring prompt action and compliance.

• Undertake and produce Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), identifying all fire related risks and raise orders to repair and maintenance contractors to remedy risks and rectify identified minor breaches.

• Prepare a programme of FRA inspections in accordance with the regulatory reform and specialist guidance to take into account appropriate risk of different stock and services.

• Undertake desk top reviews of Fire Risk assessments at planned intervals as per policy.

• Undertake quality assurance of specialist contractors undertaking FRA's, Monitor Repairs and Maintenance contractor's work, inspect completed works and ensure standards are to the highest quality.

• Manage all fire related works contracts, including cost, performance and quality.

• To advise on all related works required to achieve fire regulations.

• Complete property inspections including the identification and categorisation of building condition and defects.

• Contract manage the nominated fire door contractor to ensure quality standards are delivered

Applicants are welcome from any industry sector. You will require previous experience in a dedicated Fire Safety position and hold the Nebosh Fire Certificate or equivalent. Ideally you will have multi-site experience and be used to managing your own time. You will require a UK driving licence and be willing to travel in the local area.
