Health and Safety Adviser
We are seeking to appoint two Health and Safety Advisers to join the University's Central Health and Safety Team. The team provides advice, formulates policies/standards, undertakes audits and develops/delivers training across the University.
The Adviser roles will provide a proactive and professional 'business partner' service to the University's Faculties and Professional Services. Both Advisers will be allocated a portfolio and will be the central team's key contact with the University's Faculties and larger Services. The roles require the development of effective working relationships to so as to enable their 'partners' to implement their H&S requirements. This will include working with senior managers and their teams to provide pragmatic solutions to H&S risk management matters, the provision of targeted training and importantly remaining appraised as to new and emerging H&S risks so that the central team can ensure continued effective support and advice.
The Advisers will have a high level of autonomy and be expected to work on their own initiative. The roles require experience to have been gained over of a wide range of health and safety work within a complex organisation and also a customer-focused, pragmatic approach to health and safety. The roles requires the ability to engage and influence and have a high level of energy and enthusiasm for Health and Safety.
